Han Sen had read a lot of information on the internet, and he hadn't heard anything about anyone having powers similar to the rules of the sanctuaries. But he was sure the Kate didn't have such powers.
Now, he just wanted to know if this power was still useful, and if it could bring him any benefits. He also wanted to know where the genes came from, and if there were any beast souls or not.
When Han Sen walked out of the training room, everyone was gone. Hardman had left with the rest of the Black Gold Group. He wasn't going to wait for Han Sen, and he wasn't happy that Han Sen had failed to evolve. He couldn't sign a contract with Han Sen now.
But his contract with the reserve team hadn't expired yet. Even if Hardman didn't want Han Sen, Han Sen still had to stay until the end of his contract.
When he walked out, he saw Lan Se standing alone in the hallway. When Han Sen came out, she said, "You know my number. If you need work, call me. We haven't found anyone in the graveyard yet."
Lan Se knew what Hardman was thinking. He couldn't keep Han Sen, who had yet to become a Noble. He was worried that Han Sen wouldn't be able to find a job, and he'd end up on a bad path. He'd endanger the safety of Planet Kate. Lan Se sympathized with Han Sen, which was why she'd stayed to tell him this.
"Thank you, Officer Lan." Han Sen was touched.
When Han Sen returned to his room, he saw the door open. People were moving things around. Hardman's secretary was wearing high heels, and she was standing at the door with her arms crossed. She was directing the people inside.
"Lina, what is going on?" Han Sen frowned.
The secretary waved her black and white cat tail and crossed her arms. She curled her lips and said, "I'm sorry, but the dormitories in the base are a little tight right now. It's a waste for you to stay in such a big place, so the general manager asked me to give you another room. This big one is for the other team members."
Han Sen knew it was because he had failed to level up, so Hardman didn't want to invest in him anymore. He couldn't live in the best room in the base, either. He was afraid he wouldn't be able to live there, either.
"Secretary Lina, where is my new dormitory?"
Han Sen didn't have much to offer, so he simply took a few sets of clothes that he had bought before he arrived and walked over to Lina.
"I'm too busy right now, so I don't have time to take you there. It's in Dorm 702 in Building 7. You can go by yourself." Lina didn't even look at Han Sen. She didn't have this attitude in the past.
Han Sen didn't care. He took his things and left the single suite dormitory, heading towards Building 7.
Although Building No.7 was also the dormitory of the hunting troop, it was the dormitory of the ordinary members, the kind where four people slept in one room.
When Han Sen arrived at Room 702, there was no one inside. He went through the procedures at the dormitory manager and got his key before entering the dormitory. He first went to take a shower and changed into a set of clothes.
Han Sen's clothes had been torn apart, so he had to wear his geno armor. It didn't cost him much, but he didn't need to.
After his shower, Han Sen found the only empty space in the dormitory. He put his things away and cleaned up.
"Xenogeneic gene found." When Han Sen picked up the bone, he heard an announcement play in his head.
Han Sen was overjoyed. He had been wondering what the rules of the sanctuary would do in the outside world, and he hadn't expected to find an answer so soon. It was even more useful than he had thought.
"How do I use this thing?"
Han Sen held the bone and studied it. He didn't know how to absorb the xenogeneic gene.
He cast a geno art, but the bone didn't move. Han Sen dripped his Real Blood on it, but nothing happened.
The rules of the sanctuary only prompted him once, and then nothing happened. Clearly, they weren't going to help Han Sen absorb it.
"Do I have to eat this thing in the sanctuary?"
Han Sen tried to bite it, but it was so f * cking hard that his teeth almost fell out. It wasn't going to work.
"It looks like I'll have to cook it," Han Sen thought to himself, as he looked at the bone.
The bone wasn't big, and it was purple and red. It looked like some sort of metal. If Han Sen hadn't found it himself, he wouldn't have believed it was part of a creature.
Han Sen wasn't sure if he would be able to make soup out of it.
There was no other way, so Han Sen decided to try it. He bought an electric pressure cooker from a store in the base, and he planned to test it out when he returned to the dormitory.
Han Sen went back to the dormitory and filled a pot with water. He threw the bone in, put the lid on, plugged it in, and let it cook on its own.
After that, the door to the dormitory opened. Three sweaty Kate people walked in. When they saw Han Sen, they seemed to understand what had happened.
Everyone in the base knew that Han Sen was able to make the flowers ring, and that he had been poached by Hardman for a high price. Even if they didn't know, the core members who had witnessed Han Sen's failure spread the news like wildfire.
"Dude, relax. It's normal that you didn't evolve a second time. It's not a big deal. 99.9% of creatures don't evolve a second time, and they're still alive."
A Kate person patted Han Sen on the shoulder. He wasn't being polite to Han Sen, but he wasn't mocking Han Sen, either. He was just trying to comfort him.
"Thank you, but I'm fine."
Han Sen didn't think it was a big deal if he failed to level up. Other creatures would lose their chance if they failed, but he was different. He still had the Dongxuan Sutra and the Blood-Pulse Sutra to practice. He still had two more chances.
Even if he failed, it wouldn't be a big deal. He could still absorb xenogeneic genes and evolve. He had more than one way to evolve a second time.
"Don't thank us. We don't say that here. If you are in danger on the battlefield and someone is willing to risk their life to help you, you won't be able to say thank you," another Kate person said.
"Then what should I say?" Han Sen asked with a smile.
"Don't say anything. Do you have a cigarette?
Give me one, "the Kate person said, as he lay on the bed.
"I don't have one. I don't smoke."
Han Sen used to smoke, but because he had been in the sanctuaries for a long time, he couldn't find a cigarette to smoke. After a while, he stopped smoking.
"Is this yours?
What are you cooking? "the last Kate person asked, seeing the pressure cooker Han Sen had brought back.
