The Blood God Mantis's body was not even one-tenth the size of the blood coral, and it ate it very slowly. But after it ate half of the blood coral, its stomach did not grow. Its body only became weirder and weirder.
Before it could finish eating all of the blood coral, a strange change happened to its body. A red reaper shadow appeared on its body, and it seemed to be wielding a scythe that could harvest souls.
The shadow's blood smoke was getting thicker, and it looked as if it was going to become solid.
"It's evolving. I wonder if it will become a Marquise or a mutation," Han Sen said, looking at the Blood God Mantis.
"A spirit is just a combination of light, smoke, and air. It's not a real entity. After becoming a Marquise, a spirit won't have a real entity. It's just that the spirit will have its own characteristics. Or rather, it's an ability.

The Blood God Mantis's body was shining, too. It shone brightly with the red reaper's shadow.
Han Sen looked at the Blood God Mantis's body, and he could see a blood air swirling around it.
"It's going to mutate soon. Now is the best time," Yun Suyi said.
"No rush. Let's wait and see." Han Sen wanted to see what the Blood God Mantis's geno art was and how powerful it was.
After waiting for another two hours, the Blood God Mantis finally completed its mutation. The Bloody Reaper turned into a puff of smoke and rushed back into its body, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
The Blood God Mantis's body didn't grow bigger after eating the blood coral. It was still only a foot long, and it looked like it was carved out of blood crystal.
Flapping its wings, the Blood God Mantis shrieked and leaped toward Han Sen. Its speed was frightening, and it was like a bloody shadow.
It must have noticed Han Sen and Yun Suyi a long time ago, but it was still evolving. That was why it hadn't attacked them yet. When it finished evolving, it wanted to kill them.

Han Sen muttered something, and Spell turned into a girl. She pulled out her pistols and fired at the mantis.

Two of the bullets hit the Blood God Mantis, but they didn't break its shell. They only left two spell marks on it.
The Blood God Mantis screamed angrily. Its body turned into a bloody shadow, and it leaped toward Spell. Its mantis arms were like the scythe of a reaper.
Spell's body moved quickly, and she dodged the mantis' attack. She put her hands together, and her pistols turned into a rocket launcher. She fired at the mantis again.
Han Sen frowned. He didn't know why Spell was using a rocket launcher now. The rocket launcher was stronger than the pistols, but it was too slow. With the Blood God Mantis's speed, it should have been able to dodge it easily.
Of course, the Blood God Mantis flapped its wings and jumped one meter into the air. It dodged the rocket launcher, and it screeched and went after Spell again.
Spell held the rocket launcher and fell back. The Blood God Mantis kept coming, but the rocket that had already passed through it turned around in the air. It was like a homing missile, and it hit the mantis from behind.

Han Sen's heart jumped. Spell raised her sniper rifle and dodged, but it was too late. The red crystal scythe struck her back. A one-foot-long gash appeared in her white armor. Her back muscles were cut open, and the bones were exposed.
Fortunately, Spell wasn't a real creature. She didn't have blood.
Spell was hit, and she couldn't help but fall forward. The Blood God Mantis screeched and jumped at her. The Blood Reaper caught up, too. They pincered Spell from the front and back.
"The mutant Blood God Mantis can make a spirit like a xenogeneic. That is similar to summoning," Han Sen thought to himself.
Yun Suyi saw that Spell was in danger, and she quickly asked, "What do we do now?"
"Kill it," Han Sen coldly said. He drew Ghost Teeth Knife from his waist.
